Finding my beloved

A poem by Jessica Semaan
You showed up in my dreams and whispered in my ear
I will find you — you shall seek me no more
You smiled at me on that sunny spring stroll, as I smelled the blooming gardenia and sang
I am already here, just keep smelling and keep breathing and you shall feel me in your lungs, belly and heart
You winked at me, when I went on stage for the first time, and giggled
You got this — you may not know it, but I am here to remind you of your greatness
You cried with me, when I believed for a moment we shall never meet, and you assured me
We have already met, it will merely be a reunion
You gazed at me when I was frightened to take the road less travelled and assured me
Follow your desires, and I shall find you along the way
You stared at me when I yelled and cried:
You don’t exist, you are a lie, I am forever alone
And you kept staring for hours, days and years until I saw you are all that is real
I can wait to meet you
I can wait to feel your arms embracing my soft skin
I can wait because I know you are waiting too
You are waiting for me to step into the heart of the woman, the queen, the goddess I am becoming
You are waiting for you to step into the man, the king, the god you are becoming
And on this road of the warriors, my beloved, we will unite
And when our bodies will collide, our love will transcend all the mountains of doubt, the seas of craving and the valleys of despair
