Fuck Being A Pretentious Snob
I used to be a pretentious snob. It was a miserable life and I don’t miss it.
I would care about how much money people made and what others thought of me.
I would hide my flaws and pretend I was perfect.
I was entitled and thought the world owed me something because of where I was born, and my social status compared to the rest of the world.
Being a pretentious snob is only covering up the fact that someone is fearful, ungrateful and doesn’t know who they truly are. It’s like being an actor in a movie except you play the part of what social media tells you to do. He got a car, so I need a car. She got a new outfit, so I need a new outfit.
Being a pretentious snob is the ugliest form of human being in existence. It’s easy to accidentally become one though, hence the reason for this article.
How do you know you’ve met a pretentious snob?
1. They talk with a sense of importance
2. They don’t give anything to other people without getting something in return
3. They give a shit about financial status
4. They need to show you their material things like cars, fashion accessories and holiday photos
5. They compare themselves to other people
6. They talk about themselves a lot
7. They say the word “like” way too much
8. They are obsessed with how they look
9. They talk about “online community, ” but really it’s just a vanity metric
Humble? Yeah right
Pretentious snobs pretend to be humble because that’s the cool thing nowadays. In reality, they say they are humble as a disclaimer and then do the exact opposite. Humble people are not hard to spot and they don’t waffle on about who they know or a bunch of online stats.
Humble people talk more about the people who’ve helped them and how they have paid that favor forward.
“Humble people talk more about the person they’ve become and how that’s allowed them to help others”
Not in it for the money? Pull the other one
Geez, this one stinks big time! I’ve met a lot of fakewhits who tell me that it’s not about the money because that’s another cool, hip line to say that makes you sound really important and sophisticated.
These same people then spend most of their time chasing dollars and talking behind closed doors about how much money they have to make to be successful.
On the one hand, money is not important, then, on the other hand, they are taking advantage of someone by being greedy. This behavior doesn’t fool anybody.
I love my community so much? Prove it. Answer their questions
Pretentious snobs thank their community for their success which is in the form of online followers. They spend all day and night trying to get more people to follow them so they can feel better about themselves and prove to others how successful they are.
When a small amount of success is reached, these same pretentious snobs then talk about their community like they are the President Of The United States. They talk about how they love their community. I always try and get them to prove it.
Proof comes in the form of replying to messages, helping people who are getting started with their own pursuits and not having your team do 100% of the interaction with your so-called fans.
I put in the hard work. Or did mummy and daddy pay for everything?
These fakewhits are trying to pretend like they are self-made. When you look under the carpet, you find out that mummy and daddy paid for everything. You’re not fooling anyone.
“Nothing can substitute hard work and the lessons you learn from failure. It’s these two elements that help you lose any pretentious genes you may have had beforehand. It’s how I lost my pretentious virginity”
Why you do what you do can’t be faked. We can see it in your eyes.
Your why tells us everything about you. You pretend you want world peace, but then your eyes show that you are fearful and seek significance.
You can’t fool people with a BS why that’s designed to hide your pretentious snob traits.
You’re not fooling anybody except yourself
Pretentious snobs think they are fooling everyone — they’re not. Humans can see through BS when they’re exposed to it for long enough. You can hide it in the beginning, but you can’t hide it forever. Lying to yourself about who you really are only creates more pain.
As much as this post may sound harsh, I genuinely want all the pretentious snobs to be cured of their disease. It’s not about hating; it’s about love.
We all crave real connection
It’s through real connections that you begin to become open-minded and change your pretentious ways. Many of the addictions we have in our lives — like craving significance — are a result of a lack of connection. Meeting real people who have real values changes who you are.
Spending time with people who are humble, grateful, caring, genuine and serve others makes you want to change your ways.
“Being a pretentious snob is like being lost without a compass. When you find that compass through life experience, you can see the way you’re behaving for what it is”
We are all just little earthlings living on this water rich planet full of wonder. If you now can see you’re a pretentious snob, then pull your head out of your ass — you ain’t that fucking good! Your shit stinks too!’
