Here’s a quick way to generate hundreds of blog ideas using Quora
I have written well over 100,000 words on Medium. And in that time I have come up with hundreds and hundreds of blog post ideas. They come from everywhere, but I wanted to share one hack for brainstorming.
It’s pretty simple.
Go on Quora.com and find the profiles of some of the top influencers. You can normally do this by searching for the people in your space who are already getting reactions on other platforms. For example, James Altucher.
Find a popular question that they’ve answered and read through the other answers on the topic. You want to find any answer that has more than 1,000 upvotes because then you know that it’s a popular topic that folks want to read about.
Find an answer that you disagree with. That’s your new blog topic. Write out your post to explain why you don’t agree, or what your point of view is. Make it engaging and enjoyable.
Once you’ve written your post, you also have an awesome built in distribution channel — you can share it as an answer on the original Quora thread, which solves one of the biggest issues for most new bloggers (how do I make people see my work??)
…that’s it. It really is that simple.
People get too caught up in trying to think of the most original blog post idea in the world or whatever when in reality it’s just about presenting an opinion on a topic and doing it well.
I don’t think you need to overanalyse content brainstorming. Make it simple and do it frequently and you can build up a body of work that people enjoy.
