You’ve probably seen all the stories we’ve been publishing about intermittent fasting. Now, Harvard is getting on board, publishing work that shows intermittent fasting appears to be THE way to safely increase lifespan. Be careful out there, and make sure to consult your doctor first… and tell them The Mission sent you 😂.

The University of Guelph recently published a paper that studies the cells that enable the Gecko’s to regrow its tail. These cells, are known as the radial glia:

“When the tail detaches, these cells jump into action by proliferating and making different proteins in response to the injury. The result is a brand new spinal cord. This finding has implications for developing a way to treat humans with spinal cord injuries.”

Here’s why you should eat more wild, and sustainably harvested salmon and krill… There is something inside both called, “Astaxanthin” a keto-carotenoid. But what it’s called isn’t as important as what it helps you do. And what it helps you do is increase the activation of what’s known as the longevity gene, Foxo3, by 90%. Long story short, eat more wild caught salmon and krill, and you’ll live longer.

If you do, be careful, you might end up like Don Celino. At 121 he’s (probably) the world’s oldest man.

Holly Hanson asks, “Can you address different reading speeds and reading styles? And merits of them all?”

Virginia Woolf has a terrific essay that partly answers your question called, How Should One Read a Book. She basically says that,

The only advice, indeed that one person can give another about reading is to take no advice.

I would add that personally, I’ve tried to explore many reading styles. I’ve experimented with speed reading, and found it wasn’t that effective. I do think that speed listening to audiobooks and podcasts is great, so I do that regularly. But for books, I find that I have the best time when I take my time and enjoy them at my own speed. So try out many approaches, and jot down some notes about each in your journal.
