The Best Netflix Documentaries, Upbeat Music, and Journaling Program for Creators
The Best, 1/3/18
Without reflection, we go blindly on our way, creating more unintended consequences, and failing to achieve anything useful. -Margaret J. Wheatley
Reading
The movie is on its way, so we felt it appropriate to reread this great Sci Fi novel.
“Whenever I saw the sun, I reminded myself that I was looking at a star. One of over a hundred billion in our galaxy. A galaxy that was just one of billions of other galaxies in the observable universe. This helped me keep things in perspective.”
― Ernest Cline, Ready Player One

Fully Alive: Using the Lessons of the Amazon to Live Your Mission in Business and Life written and narrated by Tyler Gage
“Building a startup is like being thrust into the middle of the Amazonian rainforest. Living every day on the edge of your comfort zone, vulnerable to the unexpected challenges constantly being thrown your way, and constantly shifting to meet daily demands and do everything and anything you can to survive, let alone thrive.”
As awesome as podcasts and audiobooks are, sometimes it’s nice to give your brain a rest by listening to music. For some relaxing, yet upbeat music, check out Busty and the Bass. They’ve got a hip, jazzy feel that makes all our mundane activities — like cleaning or doing laundry — suddenly much more fun.
DIY:
Write your own story with this Self-Authoring Program
While not your typical arts and crafts project, we think this still counts as a DIY type thang.
The Self-Authoring Suite is a series of programs that provide you with essay prompts that help you analyze your past, present, and future. Journaling is great, but having the extra guidance and direction that this program provides has been extremely beneficial in helping me pin down my goals and understand myself.
