The Best Podcast Dropping in February

The Best, 1/31/18

Season 1 of our first podcast drops on February 26th, and it’s brought to you exclusively by Salesforce!

So what’s the name of the podcast?

We could tell you, but it would ruin the surprise!

Seriously, you’re not going to tell us?!

Not yet!

Well, what CAN you tell us about Season 1?

Season 1 is designed to celebrate Women’s History month (in March). We’re telling the unknown backstories of women who changed the world! Sidenote: These stories are incredible and we can’t believe these are still (relatively) unknown. Extra side note: If you’re a member of the media or a blogger that wants a first look at the Season 1, an interview, or media assets, please reach out to Info(at)TheMission.co.

The Mission is proud to partner with an exclusive sponsor for the first three seasons of our upcoming podcast. For those of you who have been following our journey, you know we’re building a new kind of media company, complete with a network of podcasts and shows.

It’s not cliche to say that Salesforce was our DREAM sponsor and partner for the podcast.

We’re bringing you Season 1 on Feb 26th, Season 2 (debuts March 26th) and Season 3 (debuts April 26th).

To make sure you don’t miss Season 1 and other launch goodies and giveaways, make sure you’ve subscribed to our daily newsletter. Each week day, you’ll get news that matters, along with actionable insights from the latest scientific studies and books, all designed to help you level up your health, wealth, and wisdom.

If you’re excited about The Mission’s podcast and the great folks that are making it happen, please be sure to let us know on the socials: @TheMissionHQ and @Salesforce!

A big thank you to Salesforce, and our team of creatives at The Mission Studios that are making the podcast. We couldn’t do it without you!

Podcast Listeners Are the Holy Grail Advertisers Hoped They’d Be

“Podcasters and advertisers alike have long suspected that their listeners might just be a holy grail of engagement. The medium is inherently intimate, and easily creates a one-sided feeling of closeness between listener and host — the sense that the person talking into your ear on your commute is someone you know, whose product recommendations you trust, and whose work you want to support. Cox describes it as a “lean in” medium: “People are really listening and want to consume all of the content that is there and available. There’s a level of dedication that comes from podcast listeners that you otherwise don’t find.” And now the numbers prove it. Podcasts aren’t a bubble, they’re a boom — and that boom is only getting louder.”

And ICYMI: Branded Content: The What, Why, When, and How

“Branded content is content that does not involve traditional advertising. It can include articles, videos, podcasts, and even live elements that bring relevant value to the consumer. It is not advertising in the way most people think of advertising (commercials, banner ads, social media ads, etc…). The key is grabbing the attention of today’s consumer and driving real engagement through content. Branded content can entertain people or teach them something, resulting in better brand engagement returns than standard pre roll content.

Spotlight

Mycroft Mark II — The voice assistant that protects your privacy

Shoutout to Mycroft AI for developing a smart speaker that lets you enjoy the power of voice technology, without having to worry you are being recorded.

Smart speakers by ‘Big Tech’ companies capture and store over 10 billion private conversations to use for things like targeted ads and building profiles. Mycroft’s speaker captures a big, fat ZERO.

“Voice assistants from Big Tech know a lot about you. They know when you get home, how many people are in the house, what type of pets you have, and what your calendar looks like. Here at Mycroft, we’ve got the only voice assistant that respects your privacy. We don’t capture information about you, your family or your pets.”
