Audio and Video Engineer / Podcast Producer

In Person, Palo Alto, CA

We’re looking to hire a skilled video and audio engineer. Your duties will include:

  • Coordinating and producing a live video show and podcast with guests
  • Record and upload daily podcast and video feeds
  • Pull up what the host and guest are speaking about on screen
  • Manage multiple cameras and add in effects on screen
  • Select live social questions
  • Help setup, execute, and optimize a post-production system to ensure high quality audio and video
  • Select clips throughout the show to take out, prep, and deliver to our social media manager

We’ll supply top of the line hosts, guests, equipment, lights, mics, and all the live streaming software and hardware you need.

This position also entails ad hoc requests, emailing, and scheduling, so excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. After a trial period, this can become a full-time position.

Designer

Remote or In Person in Palo Alto, CA:

We’re looking to hire a designer who can help update and upgrade our brand. When our audience reads a story, listens to a podcast, or watches one of our videos, we want them to know it’s from The Mission. Your daily duties include ensuring our lead stories and show episodes have attractive micro-content and visual assets. Your monthly duties will include larger projects, creating podcast and show covers, custom designs for long form stories, and other projects. There will be ad-hoc requests. Excellent written and verbal communication, along with flexibility and a great attitude are a must.

Staff Writer (Two Openings):

Remote or In Person in Palo Alto, CA:

Your job is to take outlines, research, and notes we provide and turn them into compelling narrative stories. You’ll have to edit and proofread your work before it’s submitted to be published. This position isn’t about churning out clickbait or articles. It is about creating high quality stories that are episodes for a podcast.

If you can’t turn outlines and story structures into 1500–2500 publishable words per day on M-F, please do not apply.

Videographer

In Person in Palo Alto, CA:

We’re looking to hire someone with proven videography and editing skills. Your job is to document the journey of building The Mission. To do this, you’ll create behind the scenes video content around our shows, meetings, events, and daily activities. Skills with handheld cameras (like the DJI OSMO and others) are a must. We’ll provide you the software you need (adobe creative suite, etc) along with music and effects. Your job is to turn our daily work into a fun behind the scenes video series for our fans to follow.
