While reading the outstanding biographies of the world’s most successful people, you are likely to get amazed and shocked by the fact that most of them already had some great accomplishments while being pretty young.

The stories of success can inspire and kill at the same time. They are supposed to motivate you to work hard. However, often those narratives make you feel envious, broken, and depressed. They literally kill your self-esteem.

While stumbling upon yet another story of success, you instantly recall how old you are and start comparing your portfolio of accomplishments with the one your role model had when they were of your age.

As soon as you find out that he or she indeed managed to get closer to “success” than you have so far, you start pondering the reasons why your achievements are much less outstanding and valuable, despite the similar age, background, place of living etc.

You wonder why you haven’t achieved a major win worth being proud of yet.

However, the reason is simple.

You haven’t done anything yet to win.

People often overlook the fact that the prerequisites of success are not the great thoughts, brilliant ideas or beautiful dreams, but rather determination, dedication, and the strong commitment to action.

You may know all the secrets to success. You may know all the best strategies and tactics. You may know how to achieve success… But it’s never enough to actually achieve it.

You learn how to write and publish a new book. You learn how to launch a successful blog. You learn how to hit your goal on Kickstarter. You learn how to build the next “unicorn”. You learn how to land a job of your dream. You learn how to successfully sell thousands of items on Amazon. You learn how to make millions of dollars in passive income.

However, the problem is that you do everything except taking action.

Take a second to ask yourself what important things you have done in order to take your accomplishments to the next level.

Be honest with yourself. Recall what crucial steps you have taken to get closer to your major goals. You are likely to find out that there were not too many of them. Instead, you are going to see that…

You are still watching the game instead of playing it.

You are avoiding the difficulties instead of facing them.

You are being lazy.

You are postponing the bold actions.

You are consciously refusing to take the opportunities that could make your dreams come true. Because they require a major effort.

You are continuously settling for less.

You are afraid of failure.

You are living within your comfort zone.

You are not ready to invest your time and effort.

You are too risk-averse.

You are afraid of taking the important steps.

You are not ready to experience a change.

However, exactly the opposite made your role models prosperous, famous, successful, and outstanding people one day.

Embrace the new mindset. If you dream big, learn to act big as well. Otherwise, you are not likely to ever be able to compare your story to the one your role model has been through.

Stop looking for the perfect moment. It doesn’t exist. The best time to act is now.

Stop looking for the excuses. Show your commitment and put some effort before saying that something is impossible.

Stop looking for someone else’s help. Rely only on yourself.

The incredible accomplishments the folks are keen on admiring were not the outcome of the hesitant, passive behavior. They are the result of the firm decisions that often proved to be irregular, risky, weird, and bold.

This handful of advice is neither novel nor innovative. Nevertheless, it is worth repeating.

Think and act out of the box.

Do not postpone anything.

Leave no reasons for regrets.

Chase your dreams.

See the opportunities instead of risks.

Cultivate a habit of acting.

Thinking and dreaming won’t take you far from the place you are now. Actions will. Start creating your own story of success. Start playing big to win big. Commit to consistent self-improvement and learn to act and live like a high achiever to eventually become one.
