An explosion of technology and data is completely changing our world by creating access to incredible possibilities, and solutions to long-standing problems.

But in some cases, that same explosion has exacerbated existing challenges or created entirely new ones.

Human trafficking, climate change, war, fake news, epidemics. Issues like these are crises spanning the globe. They threaten peace and prosperity everywhere. They impact millions of lives and have no obvious solutions.

So… how where do we even start?

It’s a question that our newest podcast, Hidden In Plain Sight, explores, but from an angle you might not expect…

In Hidden In Plain Sight, we meet the real-life teams, and technologies that are fighting to solve humanity’s most complex problems… using data.

Solutions are everywhere. We just have to know where to look. And as more and more of our lives are digitized, even more of those answers can be found in the data all around us.

What if the answers to humanity’s biggest problems were Hidden in Plain Sight?

A Note From The CEO 🧐

Just like the existential issues facing the world, the BIG questions in our own lives aren’t so easy to answer. Sometimes you have to enter a season of rebuilding, and part of that means self-work.

No matter the specifics of what you’ve been through, eventually you’ll have to face your demons and either defeat them or be defeated.

This year, I am facing my demons and rather than keep my journey hidden, I’ll be sharing what I am learning along the way. As Mission continues to build a new kind of original content studios and streaming platform, we want to give the superfans who have been with us from the beginning an honest look at the building process. Stories can last thousands of years, and building a media company that supports that kind of storytelling is hard.

But as any mission-driven person knows, achieving a vision is a path with countless twists and turns. Sometimes there are setbacks along the way. Sometimes these setbacks are setups for opportunities you can’t even imagine now.

Tomorrow I’ll talk about what demons I’ve been battling, and why until last year, I couldn’t even see them.

Mission Daily 🎧

Part of rebuilding means relaunching Mission Daily! Yes, we will actually be ‘daily’ again! 😉

The month of March is focused exclusively on world-class CEOs building incredible companies. In today’s episode, Chad interviews Aicha Evans, CEO of Zoox.

Zoox is an autonomous car company working hard to reach Level 5 (fully autonomous driving). In the episode, they cover a wide range of subjects, from:

  • Switching to a plant-based diet and the biases about humans having to eat meat
  • Aicha’s journey from Senegal, studying in France, and eventually moving to the US
  • Philosophical inspirations from Descartes, Plato, and Socrates
  • Time at Intel and Israel where focus is on family and people rather than on technology
  • Aicha’s journey with Zoox, their full-stack approach, and the feasibility of Level 5 autonomous cars
  • Aicha’s life away from work as a wife, mom, avid reader, podcast listener, and more!
