In 2003 Nokia released their first N-Gage cellphone. Touted as the first cellphone for gaming, it was the cellular industry's first attempt to turn a cellphone into a Game Boy.

What was wrong with it?

Everything.

The screen was a tiny 2.1 inches giving it a 15% screen to body ratio. The buttons were the same crappy chicklet type buttons all cell phones used. It was inexplictily shaped like a taco. You needed to remove the battery to change the game cartrage.

Most famously you held it horizontal to talk. Which resulted in hundreds of sidetalking memes.

It was an idea slightly ahead of its time that failed. An updated version of the N-Gage was released but it was already too late. The Game Boy Advance out classed the N-Gage in every catagory.

To the dismay of no one N-Gage phones were discontinuted in 2007 and life went on.

Time passes
