In a forest, there lived a flock of cuckoos. One of their shorter-length cuckoos possessed a thick and elongated tail that prevented it from flying quickly. The other cuckoos flew on without a problem, but the other cuckoo with a long tail could not get off the ground as quickly as the others.

Every day the cuckoos flew to a common place to seek out tasty insects. During that time, they fed on the insects there. The long-handled cuckoo, however, was late, and instead of feeding on the insects, it consumed nearly none.

This continued every day. It starved daily with all the cuckoos criticizing it and laughing at it. The cuckoo that had a very long tail was sad and wanted to do something. It attempted to fly every day fast but failed.

There came a season when those tasty insects are less in number. So the long-tailed cuckoo used to get no insects as all other cuckoos fed on them. It was very sad and never flew with other cuckoos to feed on insects as it knew that was a waste of time and energy.

The long-tailed cuckoo was starving, and it was in great pain. Its plan was to find food somehow, but it didn't know-how. One day, it flew slowly with its left energy, in another direction to find some food. It traveled a little long-distance, and it was almost exhausting and decided to give up its search for food.

There came hope, that it found those delicious insects in huge numbers. It started pounding on insects and started feeding on them joyfully. It was very happy as it could eat stomach-full that day.

After feeding on them, it returned home happily and the other cuckoos asked her why it was so happy. The long-tailed cuckoo explained the whole story, and they also followed the long-tailed cuckoo, and all of them fed on insects joyfully. From that day onwards, all cuckoos stopped criticizing the long-tailed cuckoo and started respecting it.

The long-tailed cuckoo was able to achieve its plan of getting food by just changing its way or direction.

Even in human life, we all have different plans we want to achieve. We may succeed at every trial, but there must be hope and patience.

Sometimes it’s not the plan that doesn't work. It’s the way or direction you choose that fails. So never change your plan. Instead, change your way or direction. This helps you have new experiences and perspectives even if you fail, which adds a lot of value to your life.
