There has been many gift basket drop shippers over the years that have closed for business, but thankfully there’s a good few reliable ones left that you can run a successful online business from. The one’s I’m listing here are ones I’ve used in the past 20 years for my e-commerce business on Shopify.

When starting an online store, what should you be looking for?

  • How well their customer service is.
  • High-quality Product photos and presentation of their items
  • Profit Margins
  • Which states or countries they ship to. The more dropshippers you work with, the more thorough your policies have to be. Do what’s simplest for you as an online store.
  • Integrations: Sadly, not one of these has their own app on Shopify or BigCommerce, so you will have to manually add every photo to your website, create your own product descriptions and SKUs.
Wine Country Gift Baskets

Wine Country Gift Baskets — They don’t publicly promote their dropship service like they did many years ago, but it’s by far the best in regards to high-quality products, excellent service and good profit margins. Depending on how much you sell, the higher discount they can offer you. Average discount is 10–15% off, but the prices are incredibly cheap as they are, so simply markup 25–30% more and you’ll be earning 50% off of each gift basket sold. They’re based out of Fullerton, CA but also have a warehouse in Canada, meaning you can dropship for both the United States and Canada to maximize your earnings. To sign up, contact them directly.

Givens And Company

Givens & Company — Excellent for profit margin as well. Photos of products are very well presented and enticing much like Wine Country Gift Baskets. I really loved their gourmet boxes. Gourmet is huge with Givens and sells really well. Gourmet and Wine Baskets are the best selling because they suit for every holiday and occasion. Givens doesn’t disappoint and their service is really good from the years I’ve been with them. Ships from Richmond, California.

Biskit Baskets

Biskit Baskets — I personally haven’t tried them yet because I only use Givens & Company and Wine Country myself due to their consistent look in their product photos (which is important to me). Biskit Baskets has a very clean presentation though and great product line though consisting of bouqets, candy assortments and care packages that the others don’t offer. Their photos have more of a universal “white background” feel much like the products you’d find on Amazon. They seem to put alot of thought into their assortments and that matters alot. Well worth checking out! All products are shipped from Colorado.

Picnic Time — This isn’t your traditional gift basket dropshipper, but their website and product presentation is enticing and phenomenal. Gift Baskets and Picnics do go together, so that’s why I felt they were worth mentioning. They also contain products not found on the other sites I mentioned, ranging from cutting board sets, cheese boards, picnic blankets and more. Their products would help diversify your website with something relevant to gift baskets, but with an added touch. After all, being unique is essential. You don’t want to have the same products everyone else sells.

Broadway Basketeers

Broadway Basketeers — Their lineup is humongous, much like Wine Country Gift Baskets. Their presentation is very impressive with a wide array of fruit, nut and chocolate assortments. They have an added touch of good design within their gift trays, gift baskets and gift boxes, much more so than any other gift basket drop shipper I’ve mentioned so far. They also have the largest selection of Kosher gift baskets from all the rest. All products are shipped from New Jersey.

Other Important Things To Know:

  • Amazon: If you were expecting to sell these products on Amazon, there’s a high chance you will not be allowed. Most of these dropship companies I’ve worked with do not allow you to add their products onto Amazon. (That’s okay though, because you will still make a decent living by other means. SEO is everything!)
  • E-Commerce Platforms: If you’re looking to know what the best e-commerce platform will be, my personal choice would be Shopify, simply because of their amazing app store that allows for endless options I can use to simplify and automate most of my processes, ranging from shipping filters, agreement check boxes, live-tracking options and being able to add an “Adult Signature Required” checkbox for wine gift basket orders, so that customers know there has to be someone home to sign for the basket since it contains alcohol. Other great alternatives I recommend are BigCommerce since it’s similar to Shopify, and Shift4Shop. All three are top notch for this kind of business.
  • Life and Work Balance: Lastly, because you’re working with dropshippers, you don’t have to worry about any overhead costs for owning a brick & mortar store or retail location. You’ll have the luxury of working from home or even running the entire business from the comfort of your laptop from anywhere in the world at anytime! Whether you’re single or a mother with children, or simply wish to have another stream of passive income — this job is for you.
