Christmas on the Pecos is a touring event hosted by over 100 Carlsbad river homeowners. They set up lights in their backyards for people to enjoy, which bring a spectacular open to the public from November 24th to December 31st, but is only closed on December 24th.

The tours are wheelchair accessible on two of their boats, the “Noelle” and the “Bella Sera,” the first seating 40 people and the second seating 45 people. The third boat, the “Bella Notte,” is not accessible for wheelchairs and only seats 15 people. The cost for tickets that adults 13 and over can buy are 15 dollars per person and children’s tickets 4-12 are 10 dollars. Children under four years old are admitted for free as long as they do not occupy a seat.

These tours last 40 minutes and you should wear warm clothing as the winter air will be cold, especially on the river waters. Blankets are provided and are still available after boarding the boat. The boats set sail at 5:30 p.m. and the last tour begins at 9:45 p.m. A new addition for this spectacle is called “Christmas over Carlsbad.” A helicopter company in Corpus Christi, Texas took to the City Council of Carlsbad to propose a tour through the skies and were approved. These tours are offered for only three people at a time and start at 5:00 pm and the last tour starts at 9:30 pm.

You can purchase tickets at 361–500–4981 or the Espejo Helicopters’ web page. You must be at 610 Riverwalk Drive at the time you will depart and need to be at 711 Muscatel for your boat tour. The air tour cost thirty dollars per person.
