Over the Edge San Diego, CA 2017
On December 2nd and 3rd 2017, San Diego California’s 5th Annual Over the Edge for Brain Cancer took place.
Every year in California a huge group of people get together to raise money to find a cure for brain cancer. The person with the most amount of money gets to then climb down the side of a tall building to the bottom as a reward. The more money you raise or donate the more the participants receive.
With every donation made, people with brain cancer can afford the medication and supplies they need to take care of themselves. Most people use the money given to them to buy a service dog so that they can sense when something bad is going to happen with their brain.
A participant from the event, Brooke Trevino, stated “ 700,000 people living with brain tumors and about 80,000 more will receive a primary brain tumor diagnosis this year. Despite the amount of brain tumors, and their devastating prognosis, there have only been four (4) FDA approved drugs to treat brain tumors in the past 30 years. It’s painfully obvious more research is desperately needed.” Brooke’s husband TJ Trevino suffers from a brain tumor that causes him to seize from time to time; she is practically taking matters into her own hands to help the many people who need it.

Remember every dollar counts.
