Earlier this week, a short survey was run where we asked anonymous students and teachers whether or not they thought the Area 51 Raid would happen and why. The results (seen below) are very close.

The poll was, as is shown by this graph, pretty divisive.

The range of reasons for why people answered the way they did were varied and diverse, but some answers were more common than others. “No one is really man enough to get shot by the army.”, said a surveyed student who had answered “no” to the previous question. “Because famous people are going”, cited many of the people who had answered yes. It seems like one of the motivating factors of the people going to the raid was the various celebrities who had also signed off on it.

“I think it will happen because some people are actually serious about discovering what the government may or may not be hiding from us in the closed-off facility of Area 51”, another “yes” reasoned. The mystery of what the base holds is an enticing one, admittedly, and perhaps it is another key motivator.

“I do not think that it’s going to happen because no one wants to die”, reasoned one person who responded with “no”. The fear of government retaliation appears to be a major factor convincing people to avoid the long-awaited raid.

Whatever the case, it’s already begun now, leaving us all to sit and wait for further reporting.
