Student Spotlight: Chelsey Wright

Chelsey Wright, 15, is a student at Jefferson Montessori Academy. She moved to Carlsbad nine years ago and is about to complete her third year at JMA. Chelsey enjoys JMA because it’s a small school. “Everybody gets along. The teachers are cool, too.” she stated.

In Wright’s freetime, she plays music in a band and rides her longboard. She also has three pets; a pug named Jax, a bulldog, Zola, and a fish called Frio.

Wright’s favorite style of music to listen to is R&B, and anyone who knows her knows that she loves The Weeknd. “I just love Abel more than myself. He’s really cute, and his music is awesome,” she said about her favorite artist.

Wright has one older sister, Alexis, who she’s really close to. Chelsey’s best friend is Hayden Florez, who is also a freshman at JMA.

In three years, Wright will graduate from high school. She plans on going to college and becoming a photographer.
