Student Spotlight: Elsea Ochoa
Elsea Ochoa is a third grader at Jefferson Montessori Academy. She has fun in a variety of different classes, including Physical Education, Math, and Art. She has a lot of friends, loves the community and loves her school. Here is a look into her hobbies and interests inside and outside of school.
Ochoa moved to Carlsbad when she was just three years old. She says she loves the community and that “Everyone knows almost everyone.” Her family enrolled her to JMA toward the end of her First Grade year. She instantly began making friends, one of whom is named Maribel who was there “From the first day” that Elsea arrived at JMA. She has two other best friends named Fay and Zoie who she loves because “They are both patient and kind.” She also has many other friends that she did not mention by name.
Ochoa loves her teacher, Mrs. Carrasco because of her kindness and patience. She said she teaches well and loves her class. Another class she enjoys is P.E. She says that “It’s a break from the schoolwork and it’s really fun.” Elsea enjoys going to Art, as well. She says she can be creative and have fun in the class. Her favorite thing to do, though, is division. To Ochoa, it is fun and she really loves math.
Ochoa has a little brother named Jesse in kindergarten. She loves him very much and says she has fun with him at home. She also has five dogs at home, who have inspired her to be a veterinarian when she grows older. She also wants to become a music composer when she grows up. Her future looks very promising and hopeful.
Elsea Ochoa has friends, family and teachers that support her everyday. She has a great life ahead of her, especially if she becomes a veterinarian. Her life is just beginning, but she still makes a difference in people’s lives. Her teacher, Mrs. Carrasco said “This girl is capable of amazing things.” Once Elsea graduates, she will be ready for the world, no doubt about that.
