Jaymz Cox is a five-year-old kindergartner in Ms. Groh’s class. He enjoys all of his subjects, but he prefers math as he “likes looking at numbers instead of words.” While reading is not his top priority, he still has a favorite book in “Zoo Animals.” When he isn’t learning new and exciting things with Ms. Groh, he is either playing with various toys in Ms. Groh’s classroom or hanging out with his friends Frank, Malachai, and Caleb. His favorite teacher is Ms. Groh (also his only teacher), but he also likes Ms. Elsie. He is even so cool that he has friends in high school — Alex Frederick and Hunter Cunningham.

Once he gets out of school, he goes home and plays football with his cousins Malacai and Eli or plays his favorite video game, Lego Marvel. Although he enjoys playing football and basketball, he prefers taking out his toys and playing with them. He loves listening to rock ’n’ roll, and his favorite song is “Blowing Me Away,” by Breaking Benjamin. He has two siblings, Leslie and Renee, and an uncle, Willy, who lives nearby.

The Frederick’s are good friends of Jaymz family and he frequently visits them as he is treated like another member of the family. At the Fredericks he loves a good piggy back ride and beating up on Alex and Hunter on the trampoline when they wrestle.

Jaymz loves his pets as he has two cats and two dogs but his favorite animal ever is the monkey because of the way they act.

When school lets out during Summer break, Jaymz plans on hanging out with his friends and family, swimming, and riding his skateboard. During the Summer, he also goes to Vacation Bible School led by local teacher Shawna Frederick, where he spends the week studying the Bible and participating in fun activities like dancing and tag. On the final day of VBS, all of the participants get in a huge water fight.

When asked what he wants to be when he grows up, Jaymz said that he wants to be a police officer. While that seems like a great career choice Jaymz still has a long way to go to get to graduation. We look forward to watching Jaymz grow up here at JMA!
