Farmers Market open in Moorestown
The Burlington County Farmers’ Market is open for its fourth exciting season, and continues offering shoppers an opportunity to stock up on Jersey Fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods and unique crafts every Saturday through Oct. 30.
Sponsored by the Freeholders and located at Hartford and Centerton roads in Moorestown, the market will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday, rain or shine, (except during declared weather emergencies).
“Buying food locally not only helps our local economy, it also supports our local farmers,” said Freeholder Director Bruce Garganio.
“Anyone visiting the market for the first time will readily understand why it has become so popular so quickly for so many.”
Market shoppers also enjoy educational local displays by organizations such as Rutgers Master Gardeners of Burlington County, as well as live entertainment, including performances by the Burlington County 4-H Cloggers and on-site broadcasts by Burlington County College’s radio station WBZC-88.9 FM.
Cooking demonstrations are also available throughout the season for a nominal fee. Look for appearances by a variety of “South Jersey Hot Chefs” www.sjhotchefs.com and other professionals from area restaurants at the market this year.
Go to www.co.burlington.nj.us to check for updated information and more scheduled appearances. All cooking demonstrations begin at 10 a.m. and participants register on the day of the event. Space is limited and slots will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
