Moorestown arts organizations received a total of $35,000 in grants
Two Moorestown arts organizations received a total of $35,000 from the Horizon Foundation for New Jersey. As part of the Foundation’s final round of 2013 grants, a total of $1,567,500 was awarded to 60 programs in the state.
“The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey applauds the commitment and dedication of non-profit organizations because they help improve the health and quality of life of Garden State residents,” said Robert A. Marino, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey chairman & CEO, and Foundation board chairman.
“By addressing significant public health issues, or contributing to the cultural richness of our state, the grantees we support are making a positive impact on the lives of the people they serve.”
Moorestown Theater Company received a general operating support grant of $20,000, to fund its theatrical productions. The grant will also help fund classes in acting, dance and voice.
The Moorestown Perkins Center for the Arts received a $15,000 grant, to support its “Arts Reaching the Students” in-school artist in residence program. The program provides schools in South Jersey with long-term artist residencies, that engage students in the visual and performing arts.
