The New Jersey Committee for The Philadelphia Orchestra is seeking new members. Prospective members are invited to two upcoming events.

The New Members Luncheon will take place on Sept. 17 in a private home in Moorestown. The holiday shopping and luncheon event will take place in November at the Tavistock Country Club in Haddonfield.

Volunteer committees were formed in 1904, four years after the orchestra’s first concerts. The Women’s Committee, as it was then called, was the first permanent organization of its kind in the U.S. and has since come to serve as a model for similar groups around the world.

The Volunteer Committees plan the Opening Night Gala, Perfect Harmony and On That Note musical events. The New Jersey Committee chapter is comprised of dynamic Orchestra enthusiasts who are dedicated to supporting the ensemble through monthly fundraising events, community relations and special events.
