Reports of shoplifting, theft top Mt. Laurel Police report

The following information was provided by the Mt. Laurel Police Department.

A patron of the Mt. Laurel Library reported a theft from a vehicle. The incident is reported to have occurred June 20 at 1 p.m. A handicap placard, valued at approximately $5, was taken. No force was reported to have been used.

Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 51-year-old male of the unit block of Palmetto Avenue, Evesham, for shoplifting a camera valued at $1,699 from Costco on Centerton Road. He was served with criminal complaints and released pending a municipal court hearing.

An employee of the Ulta on Nixon Drive reported a shoplifting. The incident occurred on June 23 at 1:03 p.m. Two females, approximately 30 to 40 years old, were observed leaving the store with over $200 worth of perfume without payment. The subjects fled the area prior to police arrival.

A resident of the 200 block of Chaucer Road reported a fraud. Following an Instagram solicitation promising $4,000, the victim loaded $700 on two vanilla pre-paid debit cards, which was subsequently removed by the solicitor. Efforts to contact the solicitor have since been unsuccessful. The incident occurred on June 23 at 3:48 p.m.

A resident of the 300 block of Rancocas Boulevard reported a theft from a vehicle parked in the driveway of the residence. The incident occurred between 6 p.m. June 23, and 6 a.m., June 24. Cash, a purse, a phone charger and miscellaneous documents, valued at approximately $5, were taken. No force was used to gain access.

Subsequent to police investigation, Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 30-year-old male, of the 600 block of Crammer Avenue, Beverly, and a 32-year-old female of the 7700 block of Souder Street, Palmyra, on June 24 for burglary and theft. The burglary occurred on Southgate Road on June 13. The male suspect was charged with burglary, theft, and conspiracy to commit burglary and lodged at the Burlington County Jail in lieu of $7,500 bail. The female suspect was charged with burglary, theft, and conspiracy to commit burglary, processed and released on summons.

A resident of the 100 block of Banwell Lane reported a credit card fraud. Over $1,000 in fraudulent transactions, using the victim’s debit card account information, were made by unknown actors at several locations in the greater Philadelphia area. The transactions were made on May 8.

Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 32-year-old male of the 1000 block of Macarthur Drive, Camden, on June 25 for being wanted by the Gloucester County Sherriff’s Office for child support. He was taken into custody at the Mt. Laurel Municipal Court where he was making an appearance for another matter. He was lodged at the Burlington County Jail pending a court hearing.

Subsequent to police investigation, Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 21-year-old female of the unit block of Sherwood Lane, Westampton, on June 26 for receiving stolen property. She pawned jewelry stolen by an accomplice. She was served with criminal complaints and released pending a municipal court hearing.

An employee of Viking Sewing Gallery, located inside Joanne Fabrics on Centerton Road, reported a theft. A Singer Sewing Machine, valued at $450, was taken from inside the business. The incident occurred between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m., June 25.

A resident of the 100 block of Willow Turn reported a criminal mischief to their residence. The incident occurred between 2 a.m., and 12 noon, June 25. A garage door and pad lock was damaged. Damage is estimated at $200.

Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 48-year-old male of the 1000 block of Woodland Avenue, Glendora, on June 27 for exhibiting a fraudulent identification. He was stopped on Route 73 northbound near Waverly Avenue for a motor vehicle violation at 3:53 a.m. Webster then exhibited a fraudulent New Jersey driver’s license in an attempt to avoid arrest on outstanding warrants. He was charged with exhibiting fraudulent identification and released on a summons pending a municipal court hearing.

Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 38-year-old female of the unit block of Hidden Lake Court Mt. Laurel for driving while intoxicated and other charges. She caused a three-vehicle motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Hainesport Road and Mt. Laurel Road on June 29 and 5:21 pm. Four people, including the female, received minor injuries as a result of the crash. She refused treatment at the scene. The suspect’s three minor children were in the vehicle at the time of the crash. She was charged with DWI in a school zone, assault by auto in a school zone, and child neglect. Khawam was released on $10,000, 10 percent bail pending a court appearance.

Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 29-year-old male of the unit block of Monroe Path Maple Shade for hindering his own apprehension. When stopped for motor vehicle violations on Route 73, he provided the officer a false name to avoid arrest on an outstanding warrant. He was released on a summons pending an appearance in Mt. Laurel Municipal Court.

A resident of the unit block of Primrose Court reported unknown actors entered his unlocked motor vehicle parked outside of his home and stole $20 in cash and a pair of RayBan sunglasses valued at $200. The incident occurred overnight June 26 through 9 a.m. June 27.

A resident of the 100 block of Birchfield Drive reported unknown actors entered his unlocked motor vehicle parked outside of his home and stole a red Chico brand child safety seat valued at $300. The incident occurred overnight June 26 through 8 a.m. June 27.

The pastor of the South Jersey Presbyterian Church, located in the 3700 block of Church Road, reported the theft of eight air conditioning units from the exterior of the building, which is currently under renovation. The units were observed missing on June 16. Time frame of the theft is unknown. The actors cut the units from the building, causing $1,000 in damage. The units were valued at $8,000.

A resident of the 1500 block of Hainesport Road reported unknown actors broke out the rear window of her vehicle while it was parked in her driveway. The incident occurred between 5 p.m. June 27 and 7 a.m. June 28. The vehicle is a 2007 Honda Odyssey and damage was estimated at $500.

A resident of the 1500 block of Ralston Drive reported criminal mischief to their vehicle. The victim reported someone scratched the passenger side of their 2012 Dodge Caliber, causing $500 in damage. The incident occurred between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. June 28.

A guest of the Westin Hotel on Fellowship Road reported the theft of a necklace. The guest had checked out of their room and then realized the necklace, valued at $809, was left behind. Upon returning the necklace was discovered missing. The incident occurred June 14 at 12:30 p.m.

A customer of Target on Centerton Road in Mt. Laurel reported they left their wallet behind while shopping. When they returned the wallet had been turned in but $160 in cash was missing from the wallet. The incident occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. June 28.

A customer of Wegman’s reported their wallet was stolen out of their cart while shopping inside the store. The wallet was valued at $50 and contained $700 in cash. The incident occurred between 4 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on June 28.
