Robbery with potential gun in ShopRite parking lot tops this week’s Mt. Laurel Police Report

A 37-year-old male victim reported that on Nov. 17 at 7:16 p.m. he was by his vehicle in the parking lot of Shoprite, 127 Ark Road. A suspect surprised him from behind and pushed an object into his back announcing it was a gun. The suspect demanded the victim hand over his money and cell phone. The victim complied with the demand and the suspect ran off towards Ark Road and Lindale Drive. Officers recovered the cell phone in the parking lot. The suspect was described as a white male, 6’ tall, thin build, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a dark neoprene mask, and dark pants. On Nov. 17 at 12:20 a.m. Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Ferndale Court. During the stop officers arrested Wane O. James-Young, age 46, of Voorhees. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.

On Nov. 16 at 10:45 p.m. Mt. Laurel Police conducted an investigation into drug use at a hotel on Route 73. During the investigation officers arrested a male, age 24, of Mt. Laurel and a female, age 24, of Mt. Laurel. Both were charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The male also had several warrants for his arrest. Both were released pending a court hearing after the male satisfied his warrants.

A victim reported that on Nov. 14 someone attempted to make an $877 purchase at Best Buy using a cloned credit card. The purchase was declined by the credit card company.

On Nov. 14 at 3:55 p.m. Mt. Laurel Police responded to Coco keys Water Park on Route 73 for a theft report. A guest reported a designer tote bag valued at $200 was stolen when it was left unattended.

On Nov. 13 Mt. Laurel Police responded to a hotel on Fellowship Road for a theft report. A guest reported jewelry valued at $500 was stolen from their room on Nov. 12 between 5 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

On Nov.13 at 5 p.m. Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 73 near the NJ Turnpike. During the stop officers arrested a female, age 32, of Philadelphia. She was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of prescription drugs without a prescription. She was released pending a court hearing.

A resident on Sandhurst Drive reported someone stole a GPS from their unlocked vehicle during the overnight hours of Nov. 11 into Nov. 12.
