There’s a tension that exists in design between the urge to innovate and the responsibility to create with purpose.

For many designers, the process is an intellectual and an emotional one, but for some, it’s a profoundly personal mission to answer an unspoken need in society.

For Forough Yazdanpanah, this mission is centered around understanding the experiences of Highly Sensitive People and creating a space where sensitivity is not only acknowledged but valued:

“It seems to me that as human beings, we tend to be more empathetic and humane in a state of fragility. Perhaps it’s the thread of ‘pain’ that connects us together. This isn’t just a narrative found in books and movies; it’s a lived experience that we have been through with every bone in our bodies. Maybe for us, as humans who are always looking for a meaning in a seemingly meaningless world, finding a purpose comes down to understanding and being understood. What could be more profound than finding the meaning and holding it dear to the heart? Why apathy has become a modern virtue has always intrigued me. We repeatedly blame and scorn…
