Open Call for Neurodivergent Creatives

Neurodivergent Storymakers, Artists, Performers, Musicians, and/or Creators — DYSPLA wants to hear from you.

The Museum of the Neurodivergent Aesthetic (#DiversityArtsCulture) invites neurodivergent storymakers, artists, performers, musicians, academics, activists and creators, to be part of our community and to contribute to our digital publication.

This publication aim to explore and enrich conversations around diversity in the arts and the culture sector through various mediums and is the starting point of future projects Editors, Nim and Lennie hope to develop.

Submission Guidelines & Mediums Accepted:

  • Text: Essays, articles, creative writing
  • Audio: Narratives, podcasts, sound art
  • Image-Based: Photography, graphic art, illustrations
  • Video: Documentaries, visual essays, performance recordings

Topics of Interest:

  • Impact of social class on access, participation, and representation in arts and culture
  • Accessibility and inclusion challenges and opportunities for individuals with disabilities
  • Influence of policy on diversity within the arts and cultural landscape
  • Systemic approaches to enhancing diversity in cultural institutions and practices

Who Can Contribute:

Neurodivergent Creatives — We welcome submissions from neurodivergent creatives — diagnosed or not from all types of backgrounds, religions, races, gender identities, sexual orientations, and abilities.

If you’re passionate about advancing the awareness and platforming of neurodivergent creatives and their work in art and culture, we want to hear from you.

Why Contribute?:

Your work will contribute to a valuable resource for practitioners, policymakers, and advocates, helping to shape a more inclusive and diverse arts and cultural sector. Your work will also form part of the legacy that is the Museum of the Neurodivergent Aesthetic.
