On the last morning of her life, Kenzie Houk asked her fiancé Chris Brown to stay home with her rather than going to work. She was eight-and-a-half months pregnant and, feeling a bit ill, wanted him to stay home to take care of her. Chris decided to go into work, however, and left.

It was a decision that he would soon come to regret.

Chris and Kenzie had known each other since childhood, both having grown up in the small town of Wampum, PA, and when they reconnected as adults, sparks flew and they developed a relationship. Both of them had children from previous relationships: Kenzie had two daughters, seven-year-old Jenessa and four-year-old Adalynn, while Chris had his eleven-year-old son Jordan. The couple and their three children lived together and seemed to have blended well, brought closer together by the upcoming birth of Kenzie’s third child, a son to be named Christopher. It was the couple’s first child together.

Jordan especially was excited, relaying to 20/20, “I was happy [about the baby]. . .I always wanted a little brother. And. . .it was a boy. So that’s what I was going to get.”

Tragically, Chris would never get to meet his son, Jordan his brother. This young…
