Missing on the Pacific Crest Trail: Where is Chris Sylvia?

Chris Sylvia and his four siblings all enjoyed the outdoors and hiking. Originally from the East Coast, Chris was excited to relocate to Southern California as an adult and explore everything the area had to offer.

In early 2015, Chris was at a bit of a crossroads. He had just broken up with a girlfriend, and he decided to take a few days to hike a section of the PCT by himself, and just spend some time with his thoughts and clearing his head.

He was working in a restaurant at the time and took two weeks off to do this hike.

The plan was to be dropped off on February 12 in Anza, California, and then be picked up on February 24 in Campo, California. His roommate and friend, Min Kim, would be there to meet him.

His friend went to meet him on February 16th as was planned, possibly for a supply run, but Chris never showed. Thinking he just decided to finish the hike, Min Kim left.

On February 24, when Chris didn’t show up as planned for that meeting, Min Kim reported him missing.
