On a fateful night of June 9, 1912, a family of six members and two guests were bludgeoned to death. Even after 109 years, this case is still an unsolved mystery.

Villisca is a small town located in Montgomery County, Iowa, southwest of the County seat of Red Oak and very close to the Viking Lake State Park with a population of 2500. The area covered by Villisca town is Four sq km and some of the largest metropolitan cities near Villisca are Omaha, Nebraska, and Des Moines, which is the Iowa state capital.

Villisca was considered as the ‘Pretty Place’ due to the pleasant scenery and businesses flourished here. It had the only publicly funded armory in Iowa. This armory participated in the 1916 Mexican Expedition, World War 1, World War 2, and also the Korean-Vietnam wars.
