Most unidentified persons cases follow a similar thread, but some just catch your attention for a variety of different reasons. Sometimes it’s a unique circumstance, potential theory, or just something that sets that person apart from other cold cases. One eyed Jack Doe has a lot of things that set him apart from your average unidentified body cold case, but mostly it’s how close we are to knowing who he is. Jack Doe came with a story, a unique physical appearance, and all due to the fact that his killer never knew his full name, and didn’t keep his drivers license, he has gone unidentified for forty two years.

Tok, Alaska is a small town on the Eastern end of Alaska, in North Star County, close to the Canadian border. It has a total population of 1,284 permanent residents as of 2019. On August 20, 1979 a resident made a horrifying discovery on the side of a deserted country road in Tok. Skeletal remains and strands of long brown hair were scattered along the roadside, ravaged by animals. Jack had been found.

When the police arrived on scene, they found a large amount of evidence. Not all of this evidence has been released to the public. What we do know is that Jack died approximately a year earlier as a result of homicide. There were signs of stab wounds on his skeleton as well as evidence that he was missing his left…
