In April 1963, Gloria and Aubrey Gibbons were super happy to welcome two beautiful girls, June and Jennifer, into the world. They were typical Caribbean middle-class parents who loved the girls so much that they did anything and everything for them.

Yet, little did they know the girls would lead one of the strangest lives anyone had ever heard or imagined.

June and Jennifer were much more than regular twins. They spent almost every minute of their lives together. Both of them spoke only a few words, and they didn’t bother interacting with others. In fact, they had their own language that involved squeaky noises and unintelligible words.

In 1967, the Gibbons moved to England for a better life. They sent their girls to a public school where they were ill-treated. Since the girls spoke in an obscure language, they were bullied and physically tortured. Not to forget the fact that they were two non-white girls in a white community.

The traumatic experiences didn’t help them engage with the world. Subconsciously, the girls believed they only could understand and take care of each other. They cut themselves off from society altogether. They…
