Hollywood, California, has been the center of stardom and the film industry. Many young actors have flocked to the town over the last century with dreams of hitting it big, but few have been able to see their name in lights. Sometimes it isn’t just the people of Hollywood who become the stuff of legends, but so do the landmarks as well.

The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel

The twelve-story Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel opened on May 15, 1927, in the middle of Hollywood, California, at 7000 Hollywood Boulevard. It was named for President Theodore Roosevelt. The hotel soon took on a life of its own and became a celebrity in its right. Besides housing the most ordinary of guests, it has also been home to a multitude of celebrities over the years, whether it be for the night or an extended stay.

The Roosevelt Hotel was the home of the first Academy Awards, lovingly known as the Oscars. The ballrooms have also been used to host a variety of after-parties for movie premieres and award shows. Although, it seems some of the guests may have enjoyed their time at the hotel a bit too much and…
