In the early hours of June 1960, an unidentified assailant attacked four teenagers camped on the shores of Finland’s famous Lake Bodom. Three were killed, one survived, and the perpetrators of these heinous murders remain unknown.

Four Finnish teenagers had planned to camp out on the shores of Lake Bodom on June 4. They were fifteen and accompanying their lovers, Seppo Anter and Wilhelm Gustafsson, who were eighteen.

The teenagers’ arrival at the campsite and the ensuing day went on smoothly as they enjoyed their time in nature. The calamity didn’t happen until the early hours of the following day.

Mäki, Björklund, and Boisman were all stabbed and bludgeoned to the death between 4 a.m. and six a.a.m. on Sunday morning of June 5, 5, 1960. Gustafsson, the only survivor, had evidence to prove his story. Afterward, he said he saw a man with red eyes and black clothing.

At approximately 6:00 a.m., a group of boys birdwatching from afar reported seeing the tent fall and a blond man strolling away from the location. The bodies of the victims were discovered at approximately 11:00 a.m. by Esko Oiva Johansson, a carpenter. He notified the…
