Takahiro Shiraishi was born in Zama, Japan on October 9, 1990. He grew up in Zama along with his parents and younger sister. According to acquaintances who talked to the Japanese media, he was a quiet boy who went to the local elementary and high school. He had average grades but he was a diligent student who never missed a day of school.
He was a skinny teenager who wore thin-rimmed spectacles and joined his junior high’s baseball team as a freshman, and then the track team as a senior.
