5 Serial Killers Who Are Still Active In 2024

In the year 2024, the dark memories still haunt us, along with the painful truth that serial killers are still on the loose. Although the frequency of serial killers has drastically reduced since the 1980s, which was probably the peak of such criminals’ history, the threat has not been eliminated.
In the past, close to 770 serial killers were on the loose in the United States, which was significantly reduced over the years by efforts in forensics, improvements in investigations, surveillance, and commonly used items such as cell phones.
Radford University’s data shows a decline of at least 80 percent in the new serial killer cases in the last decade to 2016. Experts attribute this decrease to several factors such as increased numbers of arrests and convictions, increased severity of punishment, and effective preventative measures that aim to work with possibly troubled youths before they commit a crime.
