I have loved the understated elegance of SAOTA’s work for a very long time.

Based out of Cape Town SAOTA — Stefan Antoni, Olmesdahl Truen Architects is a firm of Architectural Designers and Technologists including an in-house CGI team.

SAOTA is an internationally sought after firm, receiving numerous awards and commendations from some of the most respected institutions world wide. They now have an international footprint with projects on five continents.

SAOTA has a strong Social Responsibility presence. Besides their mentoring and up-skilling through internships, forums and judging at competitions and events they also look to assist those who are not directly involved in design and architecture.

They support the 9 Miles Project which aims to uplift segments of society through youth development and recreational sports like surfing, close mentoring programs and activities centred around arts and culture.

They also support Bottoms Up, which supports the educational theory after which it is named. Like unpacking a giant jigsaw, so the human brain develops and their sponsorship of this program means that the next generation can be more equipped for future learning through increased resources and support.

SAOTA supports UCT (University of Cape Town) Masters Students on educational overseas trips and assists previously disadvantaged students, allowing them to participate in the trip and enjoy a remarkable professional and personal experience.

Some of SAOTA’s iconic buildings are featured below :-

I love Architecture. I think it’s vital to talk about all aspects of Architecture — whether it be planning, construction, design or green building. I have written 3 E-Books & over 110 articles. Please feel free to let me know if you have any queries regarding architecture, planning & construction & I will assist you.

I am originally from the UK and moved to South Africa in 1999. I started Blue Designs in 2004 after working as a driver for Avalon Construction on a luxury home in the Featherbrook Estate. In my spare time I am an artist and writer (The Naked Architect).
