Day 3: How to prepare for NaNoWriMo one day at a time.

Author created with Canva

If you want to write 50,000 words in one month, you must learn to write anywhere and everywhere.

You might be unable to sit in your office, at your kitchen table, or in the corner of your favorite coffee shop.

When you become accustomed to only writing in these settings, you’ll feel less inclined to write at those times when work, family, or other circumstances prevent you from getting to those places.

What you need to write is your brain and something to capture your ideas.

A laptop, the notes app on your phone, pen and paper.

You don’t need to sip a chai latte tucked away in a booth surrounded by wood paneling.

You might only have the opportunity to visit that special place a few times a week in November.

You might get sick one day.

Your schedule might interfere, and you won’t have time to write until after 9 p.m. when you’ve put the kids to bed.

In preparation for those interferences in the perfect world situation, practice writing anywhere and everywhere.
