Following an unrealized project of the same goal, The Nano Center ambassadors decided to turn the older project into a bounty, encouraging the wider Nano developer community to create a Nano plugin for the Unity3d game engine.

Unity is a game engine that provides a real-time 3D development platform that allows artists, designers, and developers work together in the same platform to create immersive and interactive experiences.

From games to EdTech, gambling, and more, the Unity game engine allows teams and independent designers the freedom to create interactive projects with ease. The Unity engine also includes a platform of community-built assets and plugins, the Unity Asset Store. With a Nano plugin available on the Unity Asset Store, game designers can easily integrate Nano into their game in new and innovative ways. From using Nano as an in-game currency, to introducing payouts and microtransactions, the unique properties of Nano allow for more utility within a game than any other digital currency.

For this bounty, the first team to create a finished plugin facilitating Nano functions within Unity will be awarded the bounty, currently over 1,000 Nano. In the event of multiple submissions, the best quality plugin (as voted on by Nano Center ambassadors) will be awarded the bounty. Full details can be found here.

Nano is no stranger to game engine plugins. Look no further than the Unreal Engine plugin from Nano Foundation developer Wesley Shillingford. This open-source Unreal Engine plugin includes all features necessary for a potential Unity3d plugin. Creation of a demo video similar to this to showcase the plugin’s features would also help Unity designers to see the unique benefits to using Nano.
