While we pitched about sixty stories from The Narrative Arc this month, only the stories included in this article were accepted for the magical boost. We’ve received many questions from our writers, wondering if we are nominating their work — and absolutely yes.

Yes, we are. We work hard to support you, and will continue to do that!

Sharing these boosted stories may help you to know what Medium looked for in August for its cover stories

Every month will be different, so here’s my advice to you: write passionately. Write your best work. Write with heart, and don’t write “for the boost.”

Exploit your unique interests, and enjoy your editing and revising process.

Did I mention never to submit a story to us until you’ve had at least two or three days to review your work? Write, revise, sleep on it, come back when you’re rested. There’s no rush!

It’s also helpful to review our submissions guidelines. Remember: well-developed personal essays and memoirs.

Have you read this article yet…
