Readers and writers — what a long strange trip it’s been this last ten weeks. Our writing community has been hit with a tsunami of change. But here we are. At the Narrative Arc, and all of our publications with Parasol, we have put in extra time to encourage and edit your strong work. We continue to promote you to the best of our ability, despite the current lack of rewards.

I am not paid to run my publications, readers and writers. When your work does well, I do not benefit monetarily.

Recently I received several questions from readers who asked “Deb, what’s in it for you?”

I think it’s a fair question. As with all pub owners on platform, I believe in what I’ve created. As the platform pivots and makes changes, I strive to provide continuity. To work and maintain my pubs despite changes that make my position and continued donation of time, as the owner and publisher, nearly impossible.

“Deb,” you ask, “Are you writing meta?”

No. This is a publication state-of-the-union report. If I were writing meta, I’d be telling you how to make money and making empty promises. That’s meta.
