I remember a specific phone conversation with my sister almost two years ago. We were catching up, recapping our week, when she asked me if I had any new projects. I enjoy learning and trying new things.

Her question struck me because I had been pondering that very thought — or feeling — for several days.

Usually, whenever I get the feeling that a change is around the corner, I pay attention to it. I become alert and attentive even if I can’t quite figure out what it is I should be on the lookout for.

I have made important life decisions based on that feeling (and based on some research too, of course):

  1. Bought a house in a different state without seeing it in person.
  2. Accepted a job in a different state after only a phone interview.
  3. Confronted a bully boss, knowing that it could end my career.
  4. Wrote and published a novel while working full-time.
  5. Let go of my financial advisor and learned financial literacy.
