Medium Day: How Did Things Go?
Crows, Hope, Colors, and Community
Medium Day has come and gone, but the recordings of the sessions will live on and on!
Generally, it was a wonderful day. Medium’s gathering of the online community is typically a feel-good event, and yesterday was no exception with a vast array of speakers, and the ever-present Medium team attending booths and sessions.
It’s always fun to listen to the Medians (as they are called) cheer each other on. Kassandra appears in the keynote, and thirty people are in the comments “GO Kassandra!”!
It’s lovely to see that team support. Tony’s keynote was interesting this year, more so perhaps because of the huge challenges and also the changes in the wind. Medium has taken a “move forward, don’t look back” approach to their current activities. Between saving the company from certain bankruptcy to their new offering on the horizon, an app called TK, The Medians have been busily working. And so we write and move forward!
So, what did I find myself doing yesterday in preparation for Medium Day? Unlike the previous two years, I didn’t spend 40–60 hours preparing a talk, a space, a community, a writing competition, massive announcements on my pub pages. No, Sir! Not this year. A bit too much going on. In this last week, I’ve taken care of goats…
