So, how did Medium Draft Day 2025 go?

It was wonderful. About a dozen or so of us editors joined the Medium Zoom channel at 3 PM Eastern to go live with Scott Lamb and we didn’t know what order we’d be in — and (gulp!) I got called on first. Like being in class as a kid and having the spelling bee start with you, and the word is pneumonia!

The Zoom channel was exploding in comments with all the friends (you can do it! don’t forget the silent p in pneumonia)

Lindy: Go Deb!
Emma: Cheering you on, Deb!
Tucker: I can go if you want volunteers
Shaler: Love hearing your voice
Luc: Hello Deb!
Gabriel: Ha ha!

My entire face was a weird ghostly apparition at this point, floating around superimposed on the Medium backdrop, so hurry-up-quick, Carly Rose Gillis fixed it for me. I was scrambling too, going back and forth between doing fluttery jazz hands at the cool screen image and sounding pro (ish) or trying to.
