I call my spouse Tinderella, because we really did meet on Tinder. I remind people of this when I catch them ranting about the app, saying it is only for hookups.

We had a natural and great courtship. We went on several dates, out to sushi, to a pool, to a movie, and to several restaurants. We immediately hit it off. I was looking to meet a laid-back, smart woman with a good sense of humor, someone who values humility and honesty. That’s exactly what I got.

Interestingly, she swiped right on me because she noticed my linked Instagram showed a pic of how humans migrated out of Africa (I often share random cool information I learn about).

By chance, she’s an anthropologist/archeologist, so I suppose it scored some points.

We got along great right from the get-go. I’ve always thought chemistry is like talent: If you have it, you don’t need to work too hard to be decent.
