Trusted Reviews have just published a video they shot at the Nottingham NVA about Tanglewood. It’s been a real privilege to be around the development of this project in our own small way.

Tanglewood is a new, original game that’s been created for old, obsolete hardware by the brilliant Matt Phillips (he of Big Evil Corporation).

Originally released for the SEGA Megadrive, the good news is that Matt is porting it to PC/Mac/Linux right now so that those without the older hardware can play it.

The whole project, aside from being an extraordinary labour of love, also provides a great jumping off point for thinking about videogames, obsolescence and the kinds of problems that museums around the world are confronting all the time when trying to present or preserve old software and hardware. LOTS more to say about that in time…!

This is a really lovely video that tells you lots about this amazing project, as well as a great insight into the NVA from Lex.

Enjoy!
