Prototype designs

In this series we are documenting the journey of building DULO, starting from Day 1. Every week we publish a new chapter that takes you behind the scenes of our process. With every article we want to provide value to you, the reader. We share the success and failures, the opportunities and the challenges that we face while executing our vision.

If you are new, check out our previous post.

As we’ve spoken about, we’ve had an idea to make some merchandise for ourselves to test a few designs out, as well as wear in our videos.

We usually try to wear DULO shirts in our videos, but the weather in Amsterdam is getting a bit chilly and there is also no branding on our dress shirts, so we might not be capitalizing as much as we can on our exposure, branding-wise.

We show our faces in those videos, we might as well show the logo.

The first step was to come up with some designs and now that we have a small audience, we were looking forward to sharing our ideas with them and getting some feedback. That has been our approach from the very beginning, to document and share our process, it has worked for us so far and we definitely want to keep doing it.

So we made a few Instagram story posts with a poll and let people give in their input.

Here are the designs we put out:

#1

#2

#3

#4

The favorites were #1 and #2 so we ran with them.

The next step was to use an online service to print our designs on apparel, choosing a nice blend of organic cotton products and we were excited to receive them yesterday.

And I’m sporting the hoodie while writing this post ;)

Expect us to be more “branded” in our upcoming vlogs ;)

Any designs that you like in particular?

J.
