Join us, adventure is out there!

One of my favorite things about most movies and TV shows is a simple idea; the idea of a journey, an adventure. Luke Skywalker and the rebel alliance’s journey to destroy the Galactic Empire. Harry Potter’s journey to fulfill his destiny — to defeat Lord Voldemort and evil. Batman’s obligation to protect Gotham City from crime and corruption. And so on.

These movies are iconic, influential, and powerful pieces of pop culture because of one main reason: the viewers are a part of the journey too. Star Wars has millions of devoted fans worldwide. Harry Potter has its own theme park in Universal Studios. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has had multiple billion dollar grossing movies. Why are these properties so incredibly successful? Because of the nerds, of course!

These, and other iconic sagas, trilogies and movies have engaged billions of fans across the world, connecting people from different backgrounds, with varying values and traditions. Together, people from all walks of life and from all over the world can come together to make up one singular community and fandom. There’s something incredibly powerful about that.

And that ladies and gentlemen, is my singular goal for the Nerd Report Blog. To connect people in a singular community. To come together to discuss, review, analyze, and simply chat about our favorite movies, TV shows, quotes, easter eggs, scenes, comic books, trailers, and everything else in between. There’s something very amazing about being a part of passionate, like-minded group of individuals, especially when it comes to pop culture. And there’s something special about being a nerd too.

As Zachary Levi, also known as Shazam, puts in:

“Nerd: One who’s unbridled passion for something, or things, defines who they are as a person, without fear of other people’s judgement.”

With that being said, welcome to the Nerd Report blog. Now, what topics will we be exploring here on the Nerd Report blog? Answer: everything! Well, almost everything (I’m talking about you, Star Trek). Harry Potter, Star Wars, the Lord of the Rings, Marvel, DC, Star Wars, Batman, Spiderman, Pixar, more Star Wars, Rick and Morty are all topics we can explore, along with many, many others. Wait, did I mention Star Wars?

I am incredibly excited to begin this journey of starting a blog, I hope you all enjoy the content. And as always nerds, may the force be with you.
