First Close of JOIN Capital Fund I

Investing in European Enterprise Technology Startups

Today we are announcing a first close for JOIN Capital Fund I. Beginning today, we will be making investments based on our thesis that the digital transformation of the enterprise and industrial sectors generate attractive opportunities for entrepreneurs in Europe.

We focus on Enterprise Software with applications for General Enterprise, Industry 4.0, The Industrial Internet of Things, Proptech, Cyber Security, and Fintech. Our approach favours entrepreneurs that opt for innovation and a global distribution model to customers.

More specifically, we are looking for European B2B companies with the following characteristics:

• B2B Enterprise Technology companies at the post-seed stage that can demonstrate first indications of product market fit backed up by operational data and solid customer references.
• Capital efficient business models with the objective to achieve a value inflection point within a 12–18-month timeframe post our investment.
• Capital requirements that range between EUR 750.000 and 2.000.000 to reach the next funding milestone.
• Entrepreneurs that benefit from our network and access to the corporate and industrial sector in Germany and beyond.

We define this as the Pre-A stage with a focus on sales and marketing strategy validation versus the more product-centric seed round or the large A-Round that aims to scale a proven sales and marketing strategy.
