Yelling on Twitter: Are you sure it’s really dead?

Lordy, we’re not even halfway through the week and it’s already been A Week. Russia stuff keeps breaking (8 people, another meeting, 1 Russian translator, on and on and on), so let’s get into what happened with the Senate healthcare bill. As of right now, it’s dead in all proposed iterations, but this is the Zombie Bill That Could, so never say that it’s not coming back.

But we’re here to take a look at what the Twitterverse had to say. Ready?

This is where we started on Tuesday. Short-term memory loss is really taking its toll on Republicans, huh?

Let me rephrase. It’s really taking its toll on Republican men. Shout out to Capito, Collins, and Murkowski for cleaning up this mess

Capito’s own statement was RUTHLESS.

Unsurprisingly, Trump tried to wriggle out of responsibility. Bad news, bud. That’s not gonna happen.

Fox News came through with this EXCEPTIONAL chyron, and Lauren Duca suggested a new slogan:

Our own Taekia gave a careful explanation of why MAEGSD just won’t work:

Bad news, Grinches in government. It for sure is.

And even though the news broke early in the day that the repeal-only plan was a non-starter, Indivisible’s National Day of Action pressed on! All across the country, people showed up to make their voices heard.

Thoughts on an all-Democrat sleepover in someone’s office? The no voters can come too, and then you can all surprise the Republicans by voting en masse on a bill they didn’t think you’d be there for.

THIS IS THE IMPORTANT ONE. LET’S DO IT.

Now this is the part where we do action items. Action Item 1: celebrate this win. Take a bit of time and give yourself a pat on the back for the hard work that you’ve done to help get us to this point. I treated myself to ice cream and a walk with a friend. It doesn’t have to be big, but take the time to treat yourself because the past few weeks have been a healthcare bill roller coaster.

Action Item 2: we get back to work. It’s not crystal clear what the Republicans’ plan is yet, but if Trump himself is to be believed (questionable…), they’re going to push Obamacare off a cliff and say that it was standing too close. Keep calling to protect the ACA. Keep advocating for yourself and each other. And keep working toward taking back Democratic control of the House in 2018.
