Adam Tapp’s Narration
On February 28, 2018, I was electrocuted to death.
I was dead for around eleven minutes before being resuscitated.
I’ve been a paramedic for 20 years. I also do a lot of woodworking. I find it cathartic. It’s a form of emotional release for me.
I was doing a technique of wood etching called ‘electric device.’
To make the electric device, you take a microwave transformer, remove its safety features, and hook it up to a 110-volt AC.
The microwave transformer will turn into a highly dangerous 12,000 volts machine that etches interesting coral patterns on wood.
That day, I was with my good friend. We were having a beer at my shop while also etching this piece of wood. I remember I was talking to him and moving the electrodes.
Unfortunately, one arced into my hand.
