Ray Feurstein Narrates
I’ve had two near-death experiences in my life.
I am now 70 years old, and my first experience occurred when I was five.
I decided to play demolition derby with my sister’s dollhouse. My mother and sister were pretty upset about what I was doing. So they told me to clean it up.
It was late September around 6:00 in the evening. We had to turn on the torchlight.
I cleaned up the mess and then went back inside.
As I reached for the door handle, a black wasp stung me behind my right ear.
I am allergic to wasp and hornet venom. And the venom from a black wasp is the worst of the two. But at the time no one knew.
So, I killed the wasp and walked inside to tell my mother and sister, who were in the living room.
Suddenly, they both looked at me with shock.
